Abstract:
Stool chymotrypsin determinations suggest that already from the postnatal age of one week no differences in pancreatic exocrine function can be found between appropriate-for-dates and small-for-dates pre term infants. It is possible, however, that one week of feeding already abolishes the effect of fetal malnutrition on pancreatic exocrine function.
