Abstract:

In this presentation, a proposed model was evaluated with the purpose of improving it. The main interest of the model is to examine the quality-equity trade-off (does improving educational equity goes at the expense of average performance (quality)?). We developed a two-level SEM model, in which students are nested within schools based on PISA 2018 data. Both student- and school-level factors are correlated with the socioeconomic and language-based inequity. The model will be examined in four countries based on the typology of Mons (2004, 2007).
