A novel coordination polymer, poly[[tetraaqua(methanol)(ethanol)bis(μ-5-[(anthracen-9-ylmethyl)-amino]-isophthalicate acid- κ4O1,O2:O1',O2' )manganese(II)]bis(methanol)monohydrate],{[Mn2(H2O)4(CH3OH)(C2H5OH)(L)2] (CH3OH)2 H2O}n was synthesized with bivalent Mn ions. This coordination complex was structurally characterized by IR, elemental analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, single-crystal X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis.The coordination polymer belongs to the triclinic system, the space group: P-1.The unit cell parameters include: a=9.6850(19) nm, b=14.278(3) nm, c=17.666(4) nm, α=87.15(3)°, β=89.99( 3)°, γ=83.96(3)°, V=2426.3(8) nm3, Z=2. It displays one-dimensional chain coordination network, and a 3D supramolecular networks formed by the π... π interactions and hydrogen bonds between the chains. Furthermore, solid-state fluorescence test showed that the ligand and its coordination polymer had strong fluorescence at 456 nm (λex=417 nm) and 506 nm (λex=402 nm) at room temperature.
