Abstract:

Having access to a modified form of housing that allows autonomy, regardless of the degree of care dependence is not easy. Persons with disabilities search for private as well as social housing solutions, combined with adequate care. But the waiting lists in all three regions of Belgium are still a problem, both for adults and for children with multiple disabilities. The government currently has insufficient resources to finance new housing projects. With this study, the KBS takes a first step towards persons with disabilities and their families to help develop small-scale, innovative housing projects aimed at maximum autonomy.
