Abstract:

Recent developments in surgical techniques have drastically changed the surgical management of tumors in the head and neck region. Oncologic surgery showed an evolution from radical resection and reconstruction to functional resection with reconstructive rehabilitation. Better knowledge of the pathology, developments in microvascular surgery and better osteosynthetic materials have led to a decrease in morbidity and improved the functional and esthetical results for patients.
