Abstract:

Het Toverbos is a magical place in which no people live, but only animals. Het Toverbos is based on psychodrama, but adapted to children from age 2 to 10. In Het Toverbos children learn how to express their emotions in a safe environment, by means of play and hand puppets. They are taught how to solve problems in a non-violent way and grow emotionally and socially. The teacher is no longer the teacher, but plays along as Big Bird. Big Bird is a beacon of safety, observs and interprets the play of the children, follows the children's play and gives development-stimulating impulses.
