Abstract:

The feasibility of transfer function estimation based on amplitude-only measurements is verified. Its properties are compared to those of an estimation using both the magnitude and the phase information (full complex spectrum). The Fisher information matrix will be used throughout this paper as a basis of comparison. It is self-evident that, from amplitude information only, only the minimum in the phase part of the system can be identified. © 1990 IEEE
