Joachim Claeyé decided to establish a burbot (Lota lota) hatchery in Belgium at the age of 18. Five years later Claeyé – who juggles running Aqualota with a job as an junior aquaculture researcher – is collaborating with his father, Guido. Together, they produced 50,000 burbot fingerlings in their first year and are looking to triple this quantity next year
