Abstract: This research elaborates a justified methodology to optimize the macrocation and/or macroanion composition of nutrient solutions in a lower bound constrained experimental region. The ionic balance constraint defines nutrient solutions as "mixture systems" and makes it impossible to experiment with the mineral composition of nutrient solutions in a classical orthogonal or a unifactorial way.
