Abstract: The doorway, created between 1530 and 1538, is an exceptionally elaborated example of the all'antica style as introduced in the Low Countries in the early 16th century. As it was created as the doorway of the residence of Prince-Bishop Erard de la Marck in Antwerp, it demonstrated his status as a powerful ally of the Habsburg power. The invention of the sculptural decoration can be attributed to Daniel Mauch.
