Authors: Verdin, Joris #

Abstract: Lemmens's strange metronome marks are explained in the context of mid-nineteenth century use of the metronome in England. The interpretation of those numbers leads to an interpretation which is compatible with the ideas about the new organ style in the French Belgian school of the second half of the century.
