Abstract:

In this contribution, we pay attention to the disputes between the Council Fathers with regard to the nota praevia, the religious liberty document en de role of Paul VI in the these three important issues. We show that the Belgian diplomatic approach played an important role in the search for a solution. We also pay attention to the way in which the pope tried to influence the Council's activities.
