Abstract: The social housing refurbishment from energy efficiency and environmental sustainability perspective is among the most important pillars in any Urban renovation/regeneration. Therefore, the relation between the existing and new parts of a refurbish building need to be analysed and developed on conceptual and implementation levels.. Prosthetic architecture that emerged as a discourse in parallel to modern movement to highlight the relationship between architecture and artefact will be further explored to develop building refurbishment. It further aims at developing sustainable architecture concept by integrating the prosthesis concept as techno complementary element to the natural functions of building. Prosthesis is further seen as the injection of the other socio-spatial, economic and environmental issues that finally advance the knowledge on sustainable architectural design solutions. Therefore, this paper can be seen as first step towards developing a methodology to create an incremental and open source catalogue of small bioclimatic components. Thus, this paper finds that the suggested developed methodology of prosthetic architecture as innovative strategy to give an affordable access to environmental adaptability and bioclimatic solutions to be used for progressive refurbishment in developing countries in social housing field
