This keynote speach discusses the competence based description of architectural education curricula and highlights the differences in school profiles in Europe. It also presents the EU legislation with regard to the access to the profession of architect in Europe as laid down in the EU Qualifications directive (QD 2005/36/EC and SIM Directive (COD/2004/2001).
