Abstract: ‘The Courage Protocol’ aims to enable consultation between care workers, police and prosecutors in concrete cases of child abuse; more specifically cases in which one of the involved actors considers an exchange of infor-mation between the justice and care system beneficial. By implementing consultation platforms, systems to ex-change information, risk taxations and adapted procedures, the Courage Protocol aims to improve collaboration between these three actors. The aim of this evaluative research is to investigate the value of the Courage Proto-col in assessing such complex cases of child abuse. To do so, a mixed method design is developed, including an analysis of relevant documents, a quantitative analysis of registered cases, group interviews with stakeholders and observations followed by an analysis of concrete cases.
