Abstract: this paper presents a proposal for a new structural language and its evaluation in educational practice. The proposed language is developed as a communication and design tool for a structurally informed design collaboration between architect and structural engineer that starts early in the design process. In various case studies architecture students express their ap-preciation for the proposed language not only for its application in design collaborations but al-so in providing a structural understanding adapted to their architectural design culture.
