Abstract:
The present research project aims to develop a self and peer screening instrument for teachers to monitor the quality of individual assessments and assessment programmes in higher education. This project is grounded in the shared opinion that assessment impacts largely on learning and teaching which makes assessment a spearhead in education as well as the updated institutional quality assurance assessment in higher education in Flanders. The following three questions for discussion are raised: (1) What are the edumetric criteria of traditional tests and assessments, and how can all these criteria be integrated in one generic framework/instrument; (2) Do traditional edumetric criteria of indivual assessments apply to the assessment programmes as a whole or which additional criteria are needed?; (3) How can teachers' perceptions of assessment and assessment programme be linked to the quality of assessment and assessment programme?
