A large penetration of rooftop photovoltaic systems can have a significant influence on both real and reactive components of the complex power absorbed at a distribution feeder. This paper draws attention to a possible dynamic phenomenon that requires further study and may drive reconsideration of how distribution feeders are modeled at the system level. The goal of the work was to evaluate the effect of grid code disconnection rules at the interconnection point between transmission and distribution systems.
