Abstract: Point kinetics constitutes a highly simplified but useful model to analyze the kinetics of neutron multiplying systems. The derivation of point kinetics for a fluid fuel system requires the introduction of a generalized model for the importance function including delayed neutrons and a specific consistent procedure which is presented in the present paper. The structure of the modified point-like system of equations is discussed. Some numerical results are finally presented and illustrated to evidence some specific features and the limits of validity of the point model. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
