The basic intention of geophysical survey is eddective identification drywall building elements
in karstis environent with analyses of magnetic method results. Despite of very frequent use magnetic
method for archaeological prospection, interpretation in such environments is still not contentedly solved.
Exstreme contrast between strongly magnetic terra rossa varieties against morphologically diverse
nonmagnetic limestone bedrock offten curtain much weaker magnetic anomalies badly preserved drywall
structures. As key study, magnetic results were used from classical-hellenistic archaeological site at
Düzen Tepe in Turkey, where archaeological research has been conducted since 2005. Identical
settlements with drywall architectural remains can be encountered also everywhere in Karst regions. In
the article the accent is placed on analysis of magnetic profiles with introduction of 2D magnetic models.
Calculated magnetic curves for representative 2D magnetic models were used for correlation with
measured magnetic curves along selected profiles. This article gives selection of interesting and
ilustrative results of otherwise more extensive and research.
