Abstract: Ectopic lipid deposition in muscle and liver is associated with the pathogenesis of type II diabetes. Hagberg et al. (2012) report that targeting the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-B restores insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance by inhibiting endothelial-to-tissue lipid transport, opening promising avenues for diabetes therapy.
