Abstract: The V-Code is a beam dynamics simulation code based on the moment method, which solves the Vlasov equation by time integration. An initial particle distribution is represented by a discrete set of characteristic moments, and all acting internal and external forces along the particle's path are taken into account. Average or rms dimensions of the beam, total energy and projected emittances are all calculated with high accuracy and within a very small time window.
This contribution reports the current status of the implementation of a new beam line element in the V-Code: the radio frequency quadrupole (RFQ).
