Abstract:
In this study we provide new data on the duration of the inter-menstrual intervals of six captive female bonobos (Pan paniscus). We found that the mean duration of the inter-menstrual interval was about 34 days. This lies close to the average value of 37 days that has been reported for common chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes).
