Abstract:

This presentation focuses on the current situation of court interpreting in Estonia and gives an overview of different aspects of the profession, such as access to the profession, assessment procedures, provisions of ethical guidelines, professional associations, perspectives in the field, etc. The presentation is based on data collected during interviews with judges, court interpreters, professional associations and contacts with the Ministry of Justice.
