Title: Guided nucleation of superconductivity in Nb/BaFe12O19 hybrids with different domain patterns

Abstract: After thinning BaFe12O19 single crystal to 10 mu m, various domain patterns (stripe, labyrinth, and honeycomb) have been created depending on magnetizing direction. By switching among different domain patterns, domain wall superconductivity (DWS) in the Nb/BaFe12O19 hybrids displays corresponding superconducting profile. For honeycomb pattern, DWS confined in the domain wall areas forms a honeycomb superconducting wire network. Applying negative (or positive) magnetic field shifts the superconducting areas from the domain walls to honeycomb frame (or isolated cores), leading to a pronounced asymmetric of T-c with respective to H. In contrast, for labyrinth state, the phase boundary is almost symmetric. (C) 2011 American Institute of Physics. [doi:10.1063/1.3535978]
