A hierarchical model that captures the mutual interactions between the metal flow in a plastic forming process and the crystallographic textures in a polycrystalline material is applied for cup drawing simulations of two carbon steels (DX51D, DC06) and two aluminium alloys (AA1100-O, AA3103-O). Textures were measured at different positions in the drawn cups. These are compared to model predictions obtained with different polycrystalline plasticity models incorporated into the multi-scale model. Measured cup profiles are compared to the predicted ones. Texture evolution is found to influence the cup profiles in case of DC06 and AA1100-O, and the predicted maxima of the cup profile are in better agreement with experiment than those obtained for a constant texture.
