Abstract: In the 'Marvels of the heart', book 21 of the Ihyā’ , al-Ghazali expresses himself in a way that reveals to be in-between philosophy and mysticism. Through a systematic survey of the whole book, the presence of both philosophical and mystical elements is shown. Hence, it is obvious that he is continuously wavering between both tendencies.
