Abstract: An approximate solution to the fluorescence decay in micelles including the exchange of probe and quencher is derived. Numerical analysis indicates that the approximate solution is valid if the quenching rate constant is larger than the exchange rate constant of the probe and at a low average number of quenchers per micelle.
