Abstract: Daily physical activity (PA) has been reported to be negatively associated to obesity. Reduced levels of PA are also observed in patients with COPD, even in early stages of the disease. Since overweight increases the ventilatory burden of PA, we speculated that in overweight patients with mild to moderate COPD PA may be particularly reduced. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the impact of mild/moderate COPD on PA in patients with BMI abnormalities.
