Abstract: The Lineamenta for the Synod of Bishops' Second Special Assembly on Africa provides the salient points that are being considered. The Lineamenta and its contents are provisional in character and aim. It is against this background that the article offers reflections to inspire stakeholders in and on Africa to join in the discussions towards the next so-called “African Synod”. The aim is that when the Instrumentum Laboris finally comes out it shall reflect the views, imaginations, aspirations, and possibly the vocabularies of the People of God in Africa on “The Church in Africa in Service of Reconciliation, Justice and Peace” (the theme of the Synod for Africa).
