Abstract:

This report aims at providing an overview of the way regulation is organized in Belgium in the sectors of energy and telecommunications. Utilities regulation shows a multiplicity of policy objectives, relevant pieces of legislation and actors involved. For each sector, regulatory tasks and actors will be identified and confronted. This approach aims at answering two questions: “who does what?” and “How do they interact with?” This means we study the competences distribution and the interaction style between regulators in the energy and telecom sectors in Belgium.
