Abstract: This paper presents the results of three vibration measurement campaigns: (1) vibrations by traffic on a (jointed) concrete pavement, (2) vibrations by traffic after road renovation by asphalt overlaying, and (3) vibrations during the construction works. During the first and second measurement campaign, the free field vibrations as well as the dynamic response of the body and the axles of a truck (Volvo FL180) have been measured. In the third measurement, vibrations in the free field due to the operation of a multi-head breaker (MHB) have been measured. During the operation of the multi-head breaker, 4 cylinders
with a weight of about 700 kg are dropped consecutively on the concrete slabs from a height of 1.30m or 1.80m. The results will be used to validate a numerical model for the prediction of vibrations due to traffic and due to the breaking/cracking of concrete roads.
