Abstract: The exhibition Kristien Geenen organised shows her pictures taken amidst street gangs in Kinshasa, as well as 41 paintings by Kinshasa's popular artists Sim Simaro, Chéri-Benga, Mfumu'Eto,Shula,Alfi-Alfa, Bompini, Claude Bosana, Botalatala, JP Kiangu, JP Mika, Lukawu, Mayamba, Sam-Ilus, Sapin, Sim Nsingi, Tambwe, Teka, Trésor Cherin and Tuyindula. A soundtrack has been edited with exerpts of interviews, and the song 'Bashege' composed by Kinshasa's band 'C'est ça musica'. The catalogue accompaning the exhibition was edited by Academia Press, and contains texts by Filip De Boeck, Lieve Joris, Yoka Lye, Joseph Ibongo, Didier Katende and Kristien Geenen
Description: coordinators of the exhibition were Guido Minne and Barbara Van Poeck, Caroline Vincart put up the exhibition, Cathérine Engels edited the soundtrack.
