Abstract: The aim of this retrospective study is to demonstrate the contribution of FDG-PET-CT in the diagnosis of urothelial tumors (transitional cell carcinoma, TCC) of the upper urinary tract. It is currently admitted that the urinary excretion of FDG is disadvantageous and cause of potential major pitfall in the diagnosis of urothelial cancers, even if it has been demonstrated that urothelial tumors present an intense FDG-uptake. The PET-CT findings in 20 cases of histology proven urothelial cancer of the upper urinary tract were reviewed.
