Abstract: The effect of annealing on the recovery stress of Ni-Ti wire has been studied by using a dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA), TAQ800. The results show that the recovery stresses decrease with increasing annealing temperature in the range of 350-600 degrees C and increase with increasing annealing temperature in the range of 600-900 degrees C. It was found that the recovery stress is proportional to the plateau stress at room temperature, the recoverable strain under zero load and relative temperature increase above As.
