Abstract:

Captopril in 20 hypertensive patients acutely reduced brachial intraarterial pressure at rest and during exercise, based on a reduction in systemic vascular resistance. Heart rate increased slightly whereas stroke volume was not affected. Plasma angiotensin II was significantly reduced whereas plasma renin activity increased. © 1982.
