Abstract: People and society expect a lot of GPs in the field of dementia:
they should be able to detect and diagnose, treat the patient and
support the carer.
GPs are willing to do it but are confronted with a lot of problems
and thresholds. For all these tasks the GP has valuable tools. To
be successful there is a need for a comprehensive and integrated
healthcare system.
