Abstract: The objective of the study was to investigate the effect of changes in ventilation rate control settings on the dust emission from mechanically ventilated fattening pig houses. A mechanistic simulation model describing the dynamics of inside climate in intensive pig houses was combined with a dynamic data-based model that models the variation of dust concentration as a function of several input variables such as ventilation rate. By combining these two models, the effect of climate control strategies on the dust emission from the livestock houses can be simulated.
