The Standard Sociometric Interview of Coie and Dodge was done with 103 deaf adoelscents age 12 to 18 years. The results showed that sociometry by nomination has the same structure in deaf adolescents as in their hearing counterparts. Acceptation by deaf peers is correlated with cooperativity, informal leadership and good working attitude. Rejection by deaf peers is correlated with disruptive social behaviour. A third factor was found with high loadings for nominations regarding emotional vulnerability.
