Abstract: The results of an experimental study of temperature and light-intensity dependence measurements of photoinduced linear dichroism of amorphous As2S3 are given. At temperatures close to the glass transition temperature, a light-intensity dependence of the saturation of the photoinduced dichroism (PDi) is observed. The build-up kinetics of the PDi are analysed as a function of temperature and light intensity. These new data show that the so-called reciprocity law is limited to a temperature range well below the glass transition temperature. As a consequence, any model that tries to explain the PDi and that makes use of this law will also be limited to that particular temperature range. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved
