Abstract: A method is developed to minimize the total grinding time when a series of pieces is ground successively without Intermediate dressing of the wheel.

It is assumed that all pieces must be within the same imposed dimensional tolerance and have the required surface quality.

For the sake of generality, the grinding cycle is assumed to consist of a roughing phase, a finishing and a spark out phase.

The aim is to compute the optimal setting of the measuring fork.
