Abstract:

A novel planar conductometric haematocrit sensor is realised. The sensor can be used as an ultrafiltration monitoring parameter in the haemodialysis process. The new design allows the simultaneous measurement of plasma and blood conductivity at one single frequency. The plasma and blood conductivity ratio is related to the haematocrit [1]. The design procedure is based on the Schwartz-Christoffel conformal transform [2]. Software design tools were developed, in order to allow optimal design.
