In this paper, we present a new method to compute both stable and unstable periodic solutions of large-scale systems efficiently, based on the ideas of . By combining shooting and straightforward time integration, we exploit the fact that many systems only have low-dimensional dynamical behaviour. Good estimates for the dominant, stability-determining Floquet multipliers are obtained at no extra coat. The number of time integrations needed to achieve a given accuracy is shown to be fully determined by the system's dynamics and thus independent of the number of degrees of freedom.
