Abstract:

In this work, we propose a new key derivation function (KDF) called Skye for source specific applications and show that Skye can be a faster and more secure alternative to HKDF -- the current KDF used in Signal. This RDR dataset contains the rust implementation of Skye and HKDF and their integrations to Signal's rust library. It also includes the codes for different experiments, capturing some real-world messaging scenarios for Skye's benchmarking against HKDF.
