Abstract:

Different structures and patterns must be considered, grouped on various levels to analyse landscape. This article examines an approach to investigations at regional levels using SPOT data. Headings include the detection and reconstruction of ecologically relevant land-use categories, structural interpretation of a classified image, objects in space, landscape matrix and transitional zones. Concludes that new data bases can be created to enable the classification and assessment of landscape structural data. -L.J.Chellis
