Abstract:

The herbicide chlorbromuron was applied onto the soil of rape celery crops made in greenhouses or in the field (with or without plastic sheet). The half life of chlorbromuron in soil was 55-66 days in the greenhouses, and 30-43 days in the field. 4-Bromo-3-chloroaniline, the soil metabolite of chlorbromuron, was in soil at harvest at the concentration of 0.5 μg g-1 dry soil. At harvest, no residue of chlorbromuron nor of 4-bromo-3-chloroaniline was detected in the bulb of the rape celery.
